Many people, especially college age students like myself, struggle to find ways to make money for themselves in the short amount of time they have.
Being a new blogger who is a part time worker and a student, I often find it hard to make an extra couple of bucks, if I needed it, using the traditional college method of working a minimum wage job for a few extra hours. Mostly, I just couldn’t find the time to do it, so I set out took look for side hustles that required a little less effort and a larger pay out.
I’m going to be showing you guys how I save cash here and there despite being a student who isn’t exactly making six figures a year!
Step One: Create A Savings Method
The most important thing to start with is a good savings app. It is always important to have a good savings method in place so you are actually putting money aside and not just spending what you have saved whenever you want to impulsively buy something.
I personally use the app Digit which helps slowly move money out of you bank account each day to help you save towards your goals. It has worked wonders for me and I 100% recommend getting it if you are looking to save rather than invest.

Step Two: Invest A Little Here And There
When it comes to investing, I have to say that I’m not an expert and that I am also still trying out different apps and companies. I’m currently using Robinhood and I find it to be really easy and is sorted really nicely so you can invest in a smart way, even if you aren’t really sure how to go about the investment process. However, like I said before, I’m still sifting through different apps to see which ones are the best for beginners like myself and I will let you guys know when I have come to a definitive answer on that one!

Another good app is Stash which, if you use this link to sign up, you can get $5 to use on any investment!
Step Three: Don’t Let Healthy Eating Eat Away At Your Paycheck
The next step is to shop right. Grocery shopping is one of the biggest toilet bowls where you can flush your money down without even realizing what you wasted. I’ve noticed that, especially with all of the fad diets like Whole30, Keto, ect, people tend to spend extreme amounts of money on their food without ever looking into where they can save cash here and there. An app that I’m in love with right now is Thrive Market which is an app that lets you buy your food online and get great discounts on each item! The best part is that the food is so well organized by brand, aisle (snacks, bars, condiments & sauses, ect), and diet (Keto, paleo, gluten free, vegan, organic, ect.).
This app works so well for people with dietary restrictions (who can shop the gluten free or dairy free sections) or people who are conscious of animal rights (who can shop the cruelty free section with ease)!
If this is something that would interest you, you can use this link to get 25% off on your first purchase!
I’m personally in love with the biodegradable filter! Also, as a feminist, I have to admire that this app has a “Women-Owned Business” filter for all of us ladies who love to support our fellow ladies!
